Time: Sunday - Thursday: 5:30 - 10:00 p.m., Friday - Saturday: 5:30 - 11:00 p.m.

Charleston Holiday Festival of Lights


What started as a small display with a few lights has grown into one of the best holiday light displays in the country. Visitors will wind through the roads at beautiful James Island County Park through themed sections of brillant lights in over 750 displays. Guests will enjoy displays of typical Christmas scenes as well as displays that are very unique to the Charleston landscape.

Interested in checking out this amazing Light Display, but don't have access to a vehicle during your stay in Charleston? We've got you covered. Simply purchase tickets with our recommended partner by clicking the button below. Transportation will be provided in a climate controlled 15 passenger van or 25 passenger bus (depending on booking size). Pick-up and drop-off will be provided from the Charleston Visitor's Center (located at 375 Meeting Street). However, complimentary pick-up from your downtown hotel or residence is offered upon advanced request. Purchase Discount Tickets for the Festival of Lights

Tours depart at 5:00 pm and return at 8:00 pm and include the light display drive as well as 1.5 hours in the Winter Wonderland area of the festival for making smores around one of the fire pits, visiting with Santa, taking a ride on the carousel, Christmas shopping, or checking out other festival displays. A smores kit including graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate is provided for guests.


* Transportation, entrance into the festival, and a smores kit are included in the purchase of your ticket. Professional pictures with Santa, Christmas shopping items, and tip are not included. Tipping is never required, but always appreciated if you enjoy your time with us.

Want to Drive Yourself? 

If you have access to a vehicle and would prefer to drive yourself, head to James Island County Park during the festival and enjoy the light display drive through the park. When you are done driving the display route, park and enjoy the exhibits within the park. Guests can enjoy a traditional carousel, rock climbing wall, gingerbread house displays, giant sand sculpture, Christmas shop, food vendors, and fire pit (marshmallow roasting is a favorite pastime at the festival). Crowds will be lighter in November and steadily grow as Christmas approaches. This is one event you don't want to miss!


Money saving tips for guests driving themselves: Guests will receive $5 off Admission Mondays-Thursdays when they bring a canned food donation for the Lowcountry Food Bank or a dog or cat food item donation. While marshmallows can be purchased at the festival, guests are also welcome to bring their own marshmallow roasting smores supplies in with them.
