Thousands of people line the water in both Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston to see the illuminated boats decorated from bow to stern in the Holiday Boat Parade. The parade, in its 32nd year, will again begin on the Mt. Pleasant side of Charleston Harbor, make its way to the eastern side of the peninsula, then cruise around to the south heading toward the Ashley River. Popular viewing areas include Patriots Point, Waterfront Park, and the Battery. People should plan for ample time to park and walk to their desired viewing destination as this is a very popular event.
