AN OVERVIEW

The Charleston Tea Plantation’s First Flush Festival is like the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the tea harvesting season, as the first spring growth of the tea plants—the “first flush”—is turned into a flavorful brew that in days gone by belonged to royals only. Now everyone can enjoy this particularly fresh and tasty tea on Saturday, May 18th at the Tea Plantation’s Wadmalaw Island locale. In addition to live music throughout the day, there will be tours of the facility where the leaves are actually processed, a $5 trolley ride through the fields, an arts and crafts fair, and activities for the kids. Ticket prices range from $20 - $50. Plan on buying ahead of time for a discounted rate. Children under age 10 are free. Once you’re in, fresh iced tea is complimentary for as long as you stay!

More details will be forthcoming on the plantation's website, but you can also purchase tickets by calling the Plantation directly at (843) 559-0383, Ext. 206.

Client Testimonials

  • A Charleston resident suggested a Traveling Ink concierge might be able to help me. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this was one of the best pieces of advice I could have received. My friends thought I was an organizational wizard even though I kept telling them it was Traveling Ink, not me.

    ~ Nicky H.
  • We so enjoyed our time in Charleston. Thank you for all your insight! I am recommending your services to everyone I know who is traveling to Charleston!

    ~Kathryn C.
  • Traveling Ink planned the three full days we would have in Charleston, how we would get from one place to another, places to eat, and what the costs would be. To add to the challenge, we had to change the day of one of the main attractions because rain had been predicted. They handled all the changes with out missing a step.

    ~ Harriett H.
  • These Charleston pros do a phenomenal job in any setting. Audra was our point person and is a pleasure to work with. She is laid back and can work with any request.
