Backpacking Packs

The right pack can make all the difference on the trail. It's important to purchase a pack that is right for your needs. Take the time to get a pack that is the correct size, trip length, and shape to maximize comfort and ease on the trail.

MULTI-DAY PACKS

Multi-day Packs are designed to carry what hikers need on a long weekend trip. They aren't quite as big or heavy as an Extended Trip Pack, but carry what is necessary to enjoy a few days outdoors. Popular packs in this category have an internal skeletal system that helps distribute weight properly to the hikers hips and core as opposed to the back. Mutli-day packs should be able to carry a sleeping bag, sleeping pad or hammock, basic toiletries, a small first aid kit, some food supplies, and a minimal change of clothing.

DAY PACKS

Day Packs will carry a lighter and easier workload than multi-day packs. A good size for a day pack is somewhere around 30 liters. They are designed for one full day on the trail, but typically people do not plan to use them on overnight trips. Sometimes weather or conditions shift and a hiker has little choice but to use them overnight, but it's not ideal. It is a good idea to be prepared for such a circumstance with the proper first aid and survival supplies. Day packs are great for carrying an extra jacket or rain gear, food and water, a first aid or survival kit, a headlamp, knife, and fire starter implement.

Client Testimonials

  • A Charleston resident suggested a Traveling Ink concierge might be able to help me. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this was one of the best pieces of advice I could have received. My friends thought I was an organizational wizard even though I kept telling them it was Traveling Ink, not me.

  • We so enjoyed our time in Charleston. Thank you for all your insight! I am recommending your services to everyone I know who is traveling to Charleston!

  • Traveling Ink planned the three full days we would have in Charleston, how we would get from one place to another, places to eat, and what the costs would be. To add to the challenge, we had to change the day of one of the main attractions because rain had been predicted. They handled all the changes with out missing a step.

  • These Charleston pros do a phenomenal job in any setting. Audra was our point person and is a pleasure to work with. She is laid back and can work with any request.
