AN OVERVIEW

The Gibbes Museum of Art will hold its fourth annual street party on Thursday, May 2nd, as the kickoff celebration of its spring exhibit People’s Choice, where the people are the curators, and the art is a medley of beloved favorites from the Gibbes’ permanent exhibits. Fans of the museum were invited to vote online for pieces they most treasured and enjoyed, while various members of Charleston’s creative community were asked to choose their own top five and share how art has impacted them personally. Guests of the May 2nd street party will be the first to view the exhibition, and will also enjoy dancing in Meeting Street, an open bar, and cooking by some of Charleston’s premier chefs.
